Leah Calvert Makes Another Career Change! Plus She Wants to Write a Book About it?

Leah Calvert Beauty SchoolTeen Mom 2’s Leah Calvert recently became a Mary Kay Representative, which means she will be selling makeup but that’s not all she’s planning to do. As it turns out this is just a small part of her plan to become a cosmetologist! Leah tweeted on April 25th “I start cosmetology school may 12 and I’m so happy!!!! I would love to hear some great tips from my fans that would help me get through cosmology (sic) school.

This wasn’t Leah’s first career choice, as we saw on Teen Mom 2, Leah briefly went to nursing school, then after briefly working in a tanning salon she talked about opening her own tanning salon instead. Perhaps going to school for cosmetology will help Leah decide what kind of salon she might like to run one day. While being a mom is the toughest job there is, it’s nice to see Leah gaining some independence and doing this for herself.

Now the odd part… Leah later tweeted “Who would love to read a book on my journey through cosmetology school and tips I could share for future students?” This question was greeted with an assortment of answers from fans, most of which hoped she was just joking. On the other hand maybe after seeing the success of Kailyn Lowry’s recently released memoir, she wants to get in on the book writing biz. Honestly though if we were to see a book from Leah I would hope it would be about what it is like to have 3 daughters at a young age and what it’s like to raise them while growing up herself. I would be much more interested in reading that!

What do you think of Leah’s new career move? Do you think she should write a book too?

  1. I went to cosmetology school as a single mother. I also worked full time. A lot of single mothers and married mothers go to school and have jobs. It isn’t something to write a book about. She needs to just make decisions for herself and not to be famous for it.
