‘Teen Mom OG’ Taylor Selfridge Insists MTV Did NOT Fire Her, She Quit!

Last week we reported that MTV decided to part ways with Taylor Selfridge and pull the ‘Teen Mom OG’ Birth Special Over her past insensitive tweets.

A spokesperson for the network told E! News: “MTV pulled ‘Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special’ from its Tuesday schedule and is ending our relationship with Taylor Selfridge in light of her past racist statements on social media.”

They are referring to the same statements that were addressed on the show over a year ago. Cheyenne and Taylor discusses her tweets, Taylor apologized and everyone moved on. So it doesn’t really make sense that MTV would fire her now.

It’s now being reported that they didn’t really fire her. She decided a week before the special aired that she did not want to continue filming for reality television and it looks like the network exploited the situation.

In insider told Us Weekly that “She is saddened that MTV made it look like she was fired over these comments when in reality, she made the decision to leave Teen Mom a week ago to give her and her baby privacy.”

Taylor announced her separation from television in an Instagram post prior to MTV’s statement. While she states that this was her decision she also does reference her past tweets.

I don’t believe the reality tv lifestyle benefits me any further at this point in my life. With current events being what they are and reality tv being selective in who they apply rules to or what is considered acceptable behavior, I do not have any further respect,” she wrote.

Once again, I apologize for anyone I have hurt or offended in the past. I have addressed my mistakes many times on the network and I would like to move on and continue to be the best version of myself. My past does not define who I am today and I hope you guys can see the change. Please respect my decision to provide a normal, healthy life for my family.”

My speculation is that something must of happened between Taylor and the network that caused her to make the decision to leave the show. Perhaps they wanted her to yet again address her old tweets in light of the Black Lives Matter movement. But since she already talked about it on the show she didn’t want to bring it up again.

  1. If she quit and not get fired why was their special pulled from airing? What does it have to do with anything thren? It was already filmed why not air it?

  2. This should be about cheyanne and Cory not. Taylor outsiders should be involved
