Surprise! MTV’s ‘Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant’ will be returning after all! It’s been believed since the beginning of 2020 that the ‘Teen Mom’ spin off show would be cancelled after only 2 seasons.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup‘s production insider confirms that ‘Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant’ will return for season 3. Kayla Sessler, Ashley Jones, Rachel Beaver, Kaiya Elliott and Brianna Jaramillo have all been told that the show will go on, however they have not officially signed any contracts yet.
Filming will begin later this month. Cast and crew will be following the same rules for filming as ‘Teen Mom OG’ and ‘Teen Mom 2’ in order to safely film during the COVID-19 pandemic. The crew will be required to quarantine for one week prior to filming and will be tested for the virus every two weeks during filming. They will also have their temperature checked every day before starting to film.
The cast did not think they were getting another season. Back in March one of the cast members told The Ashley, “We have still not heard from 11th Street Productions and it’s now almost the second week of March… They keep pushing back the timeline to give us the final word. We’ve been told that when Viacom and CBS merged, it messed with the show and that some people who work on the show have had their positions change and that’s supposedly the delay, but we’re not really buying it anymore.”
During that time many of the cast members took to social media asking fans to speak up about their love of the show in hopes of having it picked up for another season. ‘Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant’ was not as popular as OG and ‘Teen Mom 2’ and the cast felt that maybe that is why they would be cancelled.
Season 3 should have 12 new episodes and will air sometime next year.
