On October 30th 2020 the news broke that Chelsea Houska is leaving ‘Teen Mom 2.’ It didn’t take long for MTV to decide on a replacement for Chelsea for next season. ‘Teen Mom Young + Pregnant’ star Ashley Jones has been confirmed as the newest cast member of ‘Teen Mom 2,’ People reports.

“We are forever thankful to MTV and our crew, who are like family to us. We’re parting on the best of terms and will stay in touch long after this. We’re proud to have been able to share our story and are so grateful to the fans who have followed our journey from the beginning,” Chelsea stated on Instagram.

Ashley Jones claimed last year that she was asked to join ‘Teen Mom 2’ when Jenelle Evans was fired from the show but she turned down the offer. Fellow ‘Y&P’ star Jade Cline ended up replacing Jenelle. This time around Kiaya Elliot was hoping to replace Chelsea and tagged the official ‘Teen Mom’ Instagram in posts about fans wanting her to be the new ‘TM2’ star.

Ashley Jones has appeared on 2 seasons of ‘Y&P’ documenting her life with on again off again boyfriend Bar Smith and their daughter, now 3-year-old Holly. Ashley and Bar recently announced that they are engaged. “I’m marrying her y’all,” Bar captioned an Instagram post of Ashley wearing an engagement ring.
