‘Teen Mom OG’ Amber Portwood Reportedly Ready to Fight for Custody of Son James

‘Teen Mom OG’ star Amber Portwood was recently granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend/baby daddy Andrew Glennon after he attempted to keep their son James from seeing Amber over the 2020 Christmas holiday.

In 2019 Andrew took James to visit family during Christmas and did not allow Amber to see him during the holiday.

“Andrew tried to do it again [last] year. He was trying to take James to California for the holidays and he went into their co-parenting calendar and changed the dates,” claims a source that spoke with E! News. “Amber’s lawyer threatened to again hold Andrew in contempt and ultimately Andrew didn’t go to California and Amber got to spend time with James over Christmas after all.”

Currently Amber does not have custody of either of her two children. Ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley has custody of their daughter Leah while Andrew was awarded custody of James after a domestic incident in 2019. According to the source, Amber is a different person now and ready to fight for custody of her son.

“Amber is in a much better place than 2019 and 2020… She’s ready to fight for her son and get her life back,” The source said. “This legal situation is a setback of course but she wants to continue on a positive path.”

Amber still believes Andrew “violated the court order by not engaging and complying with the parenting coordinator.” This could lead to another custody battle between Amber and Andrew.
