The recent ‘Teen Mom OG’ reunion was quite the show to say the least. Maci Bookout’s husband, Taylor McKinney, lost his cool on Maci’s ex, Ryan Edwards’, parents Jen and Larry. Taylor fumed about Ryan’s former drug addiction and claimed that Ryan has not been a father to his and Maci’s son, Bentley. “I think every week when you watch a new episode, you think Ryan can’t possibly be any dumber than he is, and he will prove you wrong the next week.” Taylor continued, letting us all know how he really feels, “I mean that guy can really show you how big a piece of s**t he really is.”
Taylor, who was visably furious with Jen and Larry for, in his eyes, “guilting” Bentley into having a relationship with Ryan, was ready to physically fight Larry over their argument on stage. It’s clear that Jen and Larry think that Taylor’s anger stems more from jealousy and immaturity than anything else. They insinuated that Maci and Taylor have been manipulating Bentley into not having a relationship with his father.
Shockingly Ryan Edwards himself, who refused to film for the reunion, responded to Taylor’s outburst and insults. In an interview with the Sun Ryan said, “People do that because they feel incompetent, threatened or less than whatever makes him feel that way. He could be like my one-year-old that does stuff like that for attention.” He also apparently stated that he thinks Taylor is a “punk b**ch.”
Ryan also talked about Taylor’s comments about his sobriety. When asked if Taylor thought Ryan was currently sober he said, “No I don’t. This is our opinion. It’s based on when he shows up to something or when you see him sitting there in a scene and he can’t hardly keep his eyes open.” Ryan’s response to this was actually pretty understanding but he insisted that his disheveled appearance on the show was due to exhaustion.
“I can see why he made the comment, but really I was just exhausted 99 percent of the time. Staying up all night then helping Mackenzie with kids in the day. That’s in between going back to the garage building my buggy to try and get it done for King of the Hammers off-road race.” For those of you who didn’t know, this is actually what Ryan is now doing for a living. “There were many nights I would work so long, I would just sit down for 15-20 min in the shop and nap for that long and get back to it. Imagine hand-building and fabricating everything you see on a car by yourself in a little less than a year. Covid ended up getting in the way too much and I didn’t get it done in time, but we will get there next year!”
He then went on to talk about how happy he is to finally be off the show for good. “We are so happy that we are no longer doing it. This is the happiest I’ve been since before I started taking pain killers. It makes me real happy to see my wife so happy so I couldn’t ask for much more.”
