MTV is working hard to keep the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise alive with new spin-off shows including ‘Teen Mom Family Reunion,’ which has been renewed for a season 2. In addition to ‘Family Reunion,’ the network has big plans for the future of the moms who have been featured on ‘Teen Mom’ and ‘Teen Mom 2’ for the past 10 years.
As we reported back in March MTV has decided to finally end ‘Teen Mom OG’ and ‘Teen Mom 2.’ The cast of both shows will be combined into one show and only the moms with interesting things happening in their lives will be featured each week. Meaning we may see some girls one week and a different set the next depending on what’s going on. This should keep the crew from having to pull storylines out of thin air.
The networks new show is reportedly being called ‘Teen Mom Legacy,’ according to the Ashley’s Reality Roundup who revealed new details about its production, which has already started. The cast is said to consist of eight moms: Maci, Amber, Catelynn and Cheyenne from ‘Teen Mom OG,’ and Ashley, Jade, Leah and Briana from ‘Teen Mom 2.’ “Everyone agrees that the original shows have become stale and forced, with the girls desperately trying to come up with storylines. With this format, only the girls with actual events happening in their lives that are film-worthy will make the final cut,” the source said. Kailyn Lowry was asked to be a part of the cast but declined. Mackenzie wasn’t asked at all and was once again snubbed by MTV.
Mackenzie was left out of ‘Teen Mom Family Reunion’ with no explanation from the producers. “They told me it was a few select people from each show and that it had nothing to do with one being left out, which is not true,” Mackenzie said after Family Reunion aired. She has not yet commented on the ‘Teen Mom Legacy.’
‘Teen Mom Legacy’ could begin as early as this year or beginning of 2023. Let us know in the comments if you’re excited for the new ‘Teen Mom’ spin-off!
