Chelsea (Houska) and Cole DeBoer are halfway through filming their first season of ‘Farmhouse Fabulous’ for HGTV after permanently leaving ‘Teen Mom 2’ in 2021. In a Q&A session Chelsea shared to her Instagram stories, the couple answer fan questions about what it’s been like to film for a new show on a different network.
“This world is completely different than the world I was in before and filming before,” Chelsea stated and asked fans if they had any questions about the new show.
Q: Is it true that you have to stick to a dress code to an extent?
A: You can’t wear logos or brands or really busy patterns. Stick to basics! -Chelsea
Q: How authentic do you and Cole get to be? Do you have to filter/tone down your language or anything?
A: We are definitely authentic, and we can show our personality, but we do have to tone it down a little bit on the swearing otherwise it would be like beep beep beep beep. -Chelsea
Q: I bet Cole feels more at home with the HGTV new show after all the years of TM taping.
A: You have no idea, it’s like a night and day different for me. I’m thoroughly enjoying this, and I actually feel comfortable. -Cole
Chelsea goes on to explain their new filming schedule and how big of a difference it is from working with MTV.
Q: Do you feel like the filming schedule is completely different than Teen Mom 2?
A: The schedule is one of the biggest differences between the two. We film a lot of long days but only a couple months instead of all year nonstop. -Chelsea
Q: How many hours a day/week do you film now?
A: 5 to 6 days a week, sometimes 10+ hours, some are less. -Chelsea
Over the past year there have been a lot of questions from fans about why Chelsea and Cole would leave ‘Teen Mom’ only to have their kids featured on a different show. Part of the reason the couple moved on from MTV was to give their kids more privacy.
Q: Who helps with the kids while you film?
A: Since we are filming full time, Walker had to join daycare for a few months until we are done. The other 3 are in school and afterschool programs. Takes a village! -Chelsea
Q: Wait, so the kids are not in it?
A: The kids are on the show, they make appearances. It’s just different than teen mom where it’s not like diving into their life. -Chelsea
Q: Are you and Aubree super close?
A: Yes. -Aubree
