After a heated battle between ‘Teen Mom 2’ stars Leah Messer and Corey Simms a judge has finally ruled that the parents have 50/50 shared custody of their twin daughters Ali and Aleeah.
Corey Simms had won primary custody of the girls when Leah had been failing to get them to school on time or at all in some cases. However Leah was able to go back and prove that she did have the girls to school on time. She claimed that it was an error by the school. “I talked to the superintendent,” she told Us Weekly back in October, “and I’m sending them the [time-stamped] pictures I took to prove the girls were not tardy. They’re going to take them off.”
According to a source that spoke with the magazine Leah will now have her daughters Thursdays through Sundays, and Corey will have them the remainder of the week plus one weekend per month.
“[Leah] proved in court that the kids were not tardy to school, so the judge said there was no reason the kids shouldn’t be with their mom predominantly,” the insider said.
‘Teen Mom 2’ star Jenelle Evans will reportedly be heading to trial for allegedly assaulting Nathan Griffith’s girlfriend, Jessica Henry, by throwing a glass mason jar at her back in August of 2015.
According to a report by RadarOnline Jenelle’s attorney was granted a request for a jury trial. Which is interesting because according to the police report the officer that spoke with Jenelle at the scene did not believe her version of the events.
Jenelle claimed that she accidentally threw the glass while trying to throw water at Jessica and that Jessica caught the glass and threw it back at her. The officer stated that “this would have made the broken glass somewhere farther in the driveway,” and that Jenelle did not appear to be injured in any way. The officer did however feel a lump on the side of Jessica’s head where she claimed to be struck with the glass causing it to shatter.
The trial is said to take place sometime in 2016.
Last year it was alleged that ‘Teen Mom 2’ Slea Messer took more than $10,000 from a trust fund set up for her daughter Aliannah. According to a new report, Leah hasn’t replaced the money and now Ali’s father Corey Simms is taking her to court and a date has already been set.
According to a source that spoke with InTouch Leah also took at least $10,000 from her other daughter’s trust fund as well. “Corey is taking Leah to court. He is furious that she took that money. That was the girls’ money — not Leah’s,” the source told the magazine. “Corey’s going to do whatever he can to make sure it’s put back. He adores those kids and you better believe that he’s going to make sure that Leah doesn’t do anything to jeopardize their future.”
According to a new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Corey has not gone to court just yet over the twins’ missing money. “Corey has not taken any action at all against Leah… Currently, Corey doesn’t know where that money is,” a source told The Ashley. “He has not been able to locate it yet.”
The mystery of Ali and Aleeah’s missing money is still developing.
In a brand new sneak peek of ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 6 Leah and Corey talk about their custody battle. Last season we saw the couple argue over their daughter Ali being repeatedly absent and late for school and appointments. In court Leah was referred to as an incompetent mother and was asked to take a drug test.
“Even though I’m annoyed that I have to take a drug test, I’m relieved that our custody hearing is over,” Leah says in the sneak peek clip. “I’m hoping we can move past this for our girls’ sake.“
“Like I told you from day one, what I was doing was not a personal attack towards you,” Corey says to Leah. “It might have seemed like that, but what I was seeing I just didn’t agree with. I didn’t like the tardies because next year they aren’t going to like tardies in kindergarden.“
“I can’t say that I don’t have hard feelings, because I do,” Leah replied. “Being called an incompetent mother and this and that was really hurtful.“
Corey maintains that he just wants what is best for the girls and suggests they alternate weeks instead of him only having them on the weekend. Leah doesn’t seem to budge on it though. Find out what happens in ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 6. Premiering tonight at 10pm EST on MTV.
